Brian Suhl


Brian provides organizational direction and appoints leadership in company departments.

Starting in Sales early in his career at Sandstrom, Brian has taken part in directing the transition of Sandstrom into highly specialized coating markets. Brian empowers his leadership team to take ownership of their position and develop innovative and effective solutions to improve the business as a whole.

Mark Lousberg


Mark manages the operations of the business and develops sales opportunities for current and emerging products. He also provides technical support for product selection and application.

With a background in the military, business management and large corporation sales, Mark has brought a fresh perspective and progressive culture change to Sandstrom and its market pursuits.

Russell Burt

Technical Director

Russ oversees the development of products, both current and future, in the Solutions Center Laboratory. He also provides oversight for Quality Control and technical support for product selection and application.

Russ has worked in coating chemistry for nearly 40 years. Many of Sandstrom’s products have been developed by Russ or under his leadership to meet customer needs and solve challenges, including Sandstrom’s low VOC #099.

Cassie Ptak & Jed Redell

Plant Management Team

Cassie and Jed direct the manufacture of Sandstrom coatings, tolling services and private label operations.

With over 40 years of service at Sandstrom, Jed has extensive knowledge of equipment and product processing in operations. Cassie exhibits a contagious positive attitude and an ability to manage multiple tasks quickly and effectively. By utilizing their strengths collectively, they have provided hundreds of solutions to manufacturing challenges and roadblocks.

Stephen Huitrado

Safety Director

Stephen directs safe operations, compliance with OSHA and EPA guidelines, and Sandstrom's FOD-free environment.

After serving in the US Navy for 24 years with a background in fire safety and as a safety officer, Stephen retired into civilian life at Sandstrom. His congenial yet unequivocal approach to addressing personnel and safety & compliance issues makes him a great addition to the Sandstrom Team.

Nichole May

Director of Operations

Nichole maintains organizational focus on quality, customer and government regulatory requirements, as well as interdepartment coordination for continued improvement in effectiveness and efficiency.

With an educational background in Accounting and Architecture, Nichole couples her conceptual thinking skills with attention to detail to ensure compliance while promoting corporate growth and direction.

Sue Black

Accounts Receivable Supervisor

Sue processes customer invoices and oversees customer accounts.

With over 40 years of service at Sandstrom, Sue hosts a wealth of knowledge in the administrative portion of the business. Her excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented approach to her work maintain Sandstrom’s high level of accuracy in billing and account processing.

Cristie Jevyak

Customer Service Representative

Cristie provides exceptional customer service in the form of quotes, orders and information services to customers.

Cristie’s positive attitude and love for personal interaction are well suited to assist Sandstrom’s customers for all their supply needs.

Pam DePauw

Shipping Coordinator / OEM Account Representative

Pam coordinates shipments to customer locations and provides order and information services to OEM account customers.

Pam has held certification in IATA, IMDG and DOT 49CFR shipping regulations for Sandstrom products for over 20 years. Due to her extensive knowledge and customer-oriented approach, she repeatedly coordinates on time shipments to customers, even in urgent delivery situations.

Joe Menke

Consultant for Surface Pretreatments, Coatings, and Corrosion Control

Joe Menke began his career at the Rock Island Arsenal in 1966. During his time there he was the chief corrosion control chemist at the US Army Armament Research, Development & Engineering Center (ARDEC). After 50 years at the Arsenal, Joe decided it was time to retire in August of 2016.

We welcomed Joe on board in February of 2017. With 50 plus years of experience, 30 published papers, 3 treatment process patents and numerous professional affiliations, Joe’s in-depth knowledge is a valuable asset for Sandstrom and its network. We are excited to have Joe on board for our own learning opportunities as well as the many benefits he will bring to our customers.
