Position: Lab Technician

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail oriented, team player to join our staff as an entry level Lab Technician. This person will perform laboratory tests to determine the chemical and physical characteristics of coating formulations for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Sets up, adjusts, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments such as microscopes, agitators, viscometers, chemical balances/scales, spectrophotometer, colorimeter, QUV equipment, and other equipment used in the quality control or research and development of coatings.
  • Tests materials used as ingredients in coatings, adhesives, propellants, lubricants, plastics, paints, and other products for such qualities as stability, viscosity, density, etc.
  • Tests samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications
  • Tests coating formulations for corrosion resistance, viscosity, solvent resistance, density, hardness, solids, adhesion, and other physical properties
  • Records tests results and findings in a timely, concise, clear, and accurate manner on standardized forms and in computer
  • Adds chemicals or raw materials to process solutions to correct or establish formulation required to meet specifications
  • Keeps laboratory stocks of raw materials up to date
  • General cleaning of the laboratory



  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
  • Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Some exposure to hazardous chemicals and other active chemical ingredients *training on hazardous materials will be provided
  • Protective clothing and eye wear must be worn when working with hazardous chemicals and other active chemical ingredients *protective gear provided
  • Must be able to work in a team environment



Full-Time / Part-Time


Monday – Friday / 8:00AM – 4:30PM (flexible hours)
